Cécile & Boyd awarded for
'OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO HOTEL DESIGN'

Cécile & Boyd became this year’s recipient of the prestigious Pineapple Award for “Outstanding Contribution to Hotel Design” from Condé Nast’s House & Garden UK for over 25 years of hotel work including the latest collection of lodges for Singita Grumeti in Tanzania. The award previously won by, amongst others, Ilse Crawford’s Studio Ilse, David Collins and Martin Hulbert was accorded to Boyd Ferguson at the recently opened Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design.
The magazine, now in its 67th year, has presented this award for the last nine years and chose the pineapple as it is a symbol of hospitality since the days of Christopher Columbus discovering the Americas. The award presented by Editor Susan Crewe is bestowed in conjunction with the widely respected publication of their annual “Hotels by Design” supplement. The award itself, designed by artist Bridie Hall, is a beautiful contemporary decoupage plate, stylishly backed with an 18th century map of London.
